Joe Satriani is one of the most influential modern guitarist. Although musical taste is subjective, some will go even so far as to calling him the best guitarist of all times.

He became involved with music as a guitar teacher, apparently a very good one as some of his students have became world known guitarists themselves – like Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett or Charlie Hunter.

Recognized as an excellent guitarist and a multi instrumentalist he got recruited by some of the most famous musicians - notably Mick Jagger and Deep Purple.
Satriani has been influenced by many guitar legends such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Cplaton, but despite that he has a developed a completely unique style of his own. His music is usually mostly instrumental although Satriani sings on couple of songs. The unique sound has been described as spacey, progressive or simply – Satriani.

He is also famous for organizing the G3 concert tours. G3 is a guitar show with 3 famous guitarists, Satriani and two more. Until now many famous guitarists have performed on the G3 shows: Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Robert Fripp, Paul Gilbert, Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker, Adrian Legg and many other guests.

Currently Satriani plays the lead guitar in a supergroup called Chickenfoot with Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith.
