Simple Minds were formed in 1978 in Glasgow, Scotland.
During the 80’s they had numerous successful albums and some major hits like "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and "Alive and Kicking".
Simple Minds are still considered as one of the leading pioneers of the New Wave although they have experimented with numerous styles since their formation, notably New Romanticism along with bands such as UltraVox.
Transition into the 90’s brought a slightly different approach to their music. Lot of songs were politically charged. They produced albums in steady time spans, but were unable to reach the high peaks of chart success they did once ago.
But the last album "Graffiti Soul" seems to be a positive change for Simple Minds. It is their first album in 14 years to enter TOP 10.
The sound is very classic rock and suits the audiences that have been largely returning to the more "original" forms of rock. Main single is called "Rockets".
Up to this point Simple Minds have sold over 40 millions albums.
