The Beatles AKA The Fab Four were nothing short of a global sensation. Formed in Liverpool in 1960. They became one of the most successful musical acts in history.
Members who started a global "Beatlemania" were: John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals).
Although Beatles broke up in 1970. their music remains highly commercial and influential. After the Beatles all members became successful solo artists. Dreams and hopes for a possible reunification were brutally shattered in 1980. When John Lennon was shot and killed.
Since then George Harrison died of cancer in 2001 which leaved only two remaining active members: McCartney and Starr.
Beatles 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is regarding as one of the most important records of all times.
