Some may disagree, but majority won’t when we say that Rolling Stones are – The greatest rock band in history of rock n roll.
The Rolling Stones had simply introduced so much to the genre that almost any musical style that is popular can trace some of its roots back to them.
This might spark a half-century old debate - who is more important in bringing about the rock n roll? Beatles or The Stones? But if take a closer look from a historical distance as of today, we can spot that these two band essentially spawned two different genres, each growing far and wide.
Although the 60’s were usually referenced as a big battle of bands between the Beatles and the Stones.
To be completely honest, neither of two were the first pioneers. The groundbreakers were people like Elvis Presley and many other heroes from the 50’s.
But what makes the Stones so important is that they diverted rock n roll from "potential menace to society" to a "complete menace to society". Even by our avant-garde 21st century viewpoint The Rolling Stones are still a controversial band.
Coming 2 years after the Beatles they served as a counterpart to the good boy image Beatles had at the time.
But unlike Beatles – Stones kept on rolling and officially they are still active. We shouldn’t be surprised if they decide to make more tours or albums.
To name all the hits Stones had over the years would be tedious, but some of them are globally popular, such as the iconic "The Satisfaction (I can’t get no)".
Line-up had some changes over the years, but the core is still Mick Jagger – Keith Richards. The two have been described as a typically rock love-hate couple, but despite the differences they made some of the greatest music we have.
