Tina was born as Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939. Her longevity and the career that spans over 50 years established her the nickname "The Queen of Rock n Roll".
She first became famous as the essential part of the Ike and Tina duo AKA Ike & Tina Turner Revue. But after abuse allegations in 1977. Tina filed a divorce with Ike and established herself as successful solo career.
Years that followed marked Tina as one of the most successful rock performers ever. The Rolling Stone magazine called her "one of the greatest singers of all time".
She has sold beyond 200 million albums. Her stage performance was always full of energy, she is also the solo artist that has sold most concert tickets in history of music.
But these are just plain numbers, the iconic figure that Tina represents means even more to the genre. Tina defined rock n roll and was there when it was being made.
The only person in the industry that deserves as much recognition for being a standing figure of rock n roll is Mick Jagger.
Recently (2008/2009) Tina has toured again, celebrating her 50th anniversary. The tour was an enormous success and was one of the most profitable tours in recent years.
